Our History
Elicompany was founded in 1979 by its current CEO Calisto “Mario” Forghieri, a professional pilot, who wanted to nurture his passion for helicopters and make his experience available to customers. He started with flights to help the farmers in the intensive Padana valley agriculture industry.
Then added a flight school and, in the mid 90’s, started passenger charters and surveillance flights over vital infrastructures of the Country, like oil and power lines. Today, Elicompany is one of the market leading on-shore helicopter charter companies in Italy. We registered in excess of 4,000 hours of flight time last year and we are expecting to register over 4,500 during this current year

Our Headquarters is in Carpi, near Bologna. It is a strategically located base, very central on all North Italy routes. We started last year an impressive building process to improve our hangar and offices capability, it shall. Be ended within this summer. During the years, we opened and developed additional bases such as Milan, Olbia, Tuscany and others. There we keep training our pilots and technicians, making them grow up with us. We don’t hire temporary staff, as we strongly believe in long-term skills development. The 2 sons on the founder, Cristian and Matteo, works in the company: both are certified pilots and training instructors with over 10.000 flying hours experience each. All our staff is fully certified as required by Italian Aviation Authority
