Exploring Ravello

Ravello is a small, peaceful and fascinating village: less than 3.000 people lives here but its beauty, vistas and villas deservered being listed ad World Heritage site by Unesco in 1997. It hosted celebrities since hundreds of years: from Greta Garbo to Richard Wagner, from Giovanni Boccaccio to D.H. Lawrence. Gore Vidal, the famous American author, lived in Ravello for over thirty years, writing here most of his novels. At the beginning of 20th century, the Villa Cimbrone gained fame as a retreat for Virginia Woolf and other members of London’s Bloomsbury Group, including John Maynard Keynes, the 20th century’s most famous economist. Holliwood stars are at home in Ravello: Truman Capote, Humphrey Bogart, Gina Lollobrigida, John Huston, Pierce Brosnan and Woody Harrelson among many others.
